Turning deserts into the world’s green powerhouse – this is an idea the Desertec Industrial Initiative (DII) has been promoting since 2009. Since then DII has gone through different stages of not only enabling a transition into renewables for Middle Eastern and North African regions, but also to provide other regions, Europe in particular, with clean energy.
